We have all heard this before...that 'things' will never make us happy'..well they can, but it is temporary happiness, so we continue to want more and more and upgrade 'things'...an unreasonable action to find a very reasonable goal. I have always had my daughter do a gratitude journal. It must be effective, as not many 13 year olds clean their room, and make their bed, without asking, each morning...
A gratitude journal helps you remember what you have, vs what you want...which is a normal for kids as much as it is adults - to want this and that...its never enough. Try to be thankful for what you have, focus on the good things you have, and by taking care of what you have, you will be proud and thankful and find more happiness...
