Be The Change

I once thought this quote was of Ghandi…when it is actually a paraphrase, when he said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

What Ghandi actually said was:

"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”

~ Mahatma Gandhi

The hard reality is we are so busy trying to survive, it’s so hard to make time to live…by taking time to understand the meanings of these tools or quotes or cliches…well, it is just overwhelming…and truly, of course so many of us feel we cannot change the world. The most interesting idea in what Ghandi said, is that if you change your own world (in your behavior, action, and engagement in life)…and if more and more people do…we collectively change the world.

Think about your place, home, apartment…where live. Think about how many physical parts it takes to build such a home…think about how many people to even get the land, permit to build, parts, experts…so many people…that is how the many create change and impact…if you had to go build a home right now, it’s overwhelming of course…but realizing it’s the actions of each in the mass of many, that we create change…

My tag line for UlovemeloveU is, we are all connected. be kind. Many feel they are independent…well look what it takes to buy a house…or what if I asked you to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, from absolute scratch, for dinner tonight…could you? No shopping at stores- from scratch… how many people were involved to make that simple sandwich?
